Full-Stack Developer (Core Team)

  • Core Team: works on our AI systems and provides long-term technical solutions such as infrastructure, framework, libraries, processes, tools, guidelines, etc. 
  • Merchant Solutions: maintains our API, ecommerce platform integrations, and works on other customer-facing features
  • Fulfillment & Stock: ensures every order from our customers is sent to the Printful system and our production equipment 
  • Billing, Warehousing & Fulfillment, Shipping, and several other teams that are in charge of other Printful services and tools

As a Full-Stack Developer, you’ll be able to use your knowledge and experience to create and improve various JavaScript and PHP based solutions in the frontend and backend. You’ll also have the opportunity to share and implement your ideas to develop and improve our frontend and backend system architecture.

Your daily tasks will entail:

  • improving and fixing various PHP, JavaScript, and TypeScript codebases
  • developing the foundation for new systems 
  • helping plan the overall architecture and design of new projects and features, assisting developers with guidelines and decision-making (mainly JavaScript-oriented)
  • improving developer workflows by developing internal tools and libraries
  • configuring third-party tools and libraries
  • researching new tools, technologies, and approaches to try at Printful 
  • debugging and analyzing various frontend and backend performance issues 

Below is a list of the formal requirements, but what matters the most is that you’re willing to learn, master new technologies, and proactively participate in project development. Since we’re an international team, our developers also need to have good English skills.

What we expect from you: 

  • experience: 
    • building performant and scalable backends and frontends
    • configuring web bundling/build tools (preferably Webpack) to achieve web-optimized builds (chunk splitting, tree-shaking, etc.)
    • in PHP programming (or a desire to learn it)
  • background in modern JavaScript development (EcmaScript 2020 and up), its tooling (build tools, linters, dev-tools), and ecosystem
  • ability to write maintainable, understandable, and clean OOP code at scale following common design principles like SOLID, DRY, etc. 
  • understanding of how JavaScript engines work (the event loop, garbage collection, ES Modules vs CommonJS, etc.)
  • good JavaScript debugging skills, ability to debug through third-party code

Experience with any of the following tools or tasks will be considered an advantage:

  • Node.js (writing CLI tools, servers, etc.)
  • MySQL and MongoDB, database design, data modelling, and query optimization
  • automated testing for JavaScript and PHP
  • writing Server-Side-Rendered JavaScript apps 
  • Docker
  • TypeScript
  • service-oriented architecture, writing microservices
  • frontend performance analysis and metrics (Google Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, RAIL, RUM, or Synthetic Lab Monitoring tools)
  • contributing to the open-source JavaScript ecosystem (submitting issues and pull requests to open source tools)
  • using and writing GraphQL APIs
  • AWS or other similar cloud services
