Biogrāfija

Black State Highway are a female fronted hard blues rock band based in Brighton.
Originally formed in 2010, Black State Highway began gaining momentum after moving from their home town Reading to Brighton, where rhythm guitarist Jon Crampton joined as the fifth member of the band.

Amongst a wide and varied repertoire of influences, Black State Highway are heavily influenced by bands such as Lynyrd Skynrd, Led Zeppelin, and Clutch, but despite following this pedigree they stamp authority by stepping outside the boundaries of classic rock traditions with their own original brand of heavy riff based rock.

Black State Highway immediately established a reputation on the Brighton rock scene, performing at clubs including Komedia and Concorde 2, before progressing onto renowned London venues such as The 100 Club, Hard Rock Cafe and becoming local favourites at London Soho's Intrepid Fox.

Fronted by Liva Steinberga, Black State Highway are recognised for their infectious on-stage energy and the raw, melodic hooks of Steinberga's power-vocals. The stripped back rhythm section, consisting of drummer Harry Bland and bassist Gordon Duncan, promises sizable power and aggressive bass-lines that will shake the ground beneath the crowd. Together with Jon Crampton, the crunching riffs, relentlessly skilled solos and southern rock charm of lead guitarist Olie Trethewey, undoubtedly completes the Black State Highway five piece line-up.

In the process of recording their up-and-coming EP, 'Drive', Black State Highway depart from the rock stereotype with a distressed, vintage sound. Due to be released early next year, Black State Highway are set to power their way into 2014.
